Nausicaa - Project Update - Images from A&L Auto Body (1st Set)

The car has been dropped off with A&L Auto Body (they do not have a website as far as I can tell). We were looking for an auto body shop to paint the interior, engine bay, roll cage, repair any rust, and then primer the exterior.

A&L Auto Body was recommended to us by Olsen Motorsports as they have had many customers satisfactorily work with them in the past. P&L Motorsports did not have a body shop they recommended at this time.

Nausicaa - Project Update - Images from P&L Motorsports (10th Set)

Another update from P&L Motorsports. They were working on the suspension fitment and performing an alignment and wanted to lower the car a bit more. What they found is that our JRZ RS Pro coilovers did not have enough space with the bump stop to be lower the car as far as needed.

We got in contact with Tim Olsen at Olsen Motorsports.

Cagalli Yula, Gilly's Auto, Krown Rust Proofing

Third year taking Cagalli Yula (2014 Subaru BRZ Limited) to Gilly's Auto in Grantham, NH for her annual Krown treatment. As usual had a nice conversation with Josh and Heather while the car was being sprayed.
Between this and the last visit we have got winter tires and new wheels and summer tires. Josh lets me take a look underneath and thoroughly examine the under side.

Nausicaa - Project Update - Images from P&L Motorsports (8th Set)

Another set of images and video from P&L Motorsports. This is in relation to the install of the K-Tuned 04-08 TSX/TL / 03-07 Accord Billet Shifter Box and Shifter Extender previously ordered.
The standard shifter length is a bit short and not as close to the steering wheel as we would like it to be. Therefore something longer is needed.

Nausicaa - Project Update - Parts Ordered

Another round of orders.

Car iD:

Planted Technology Driver Side Seat Bracket
Part no.: SB235DR
Price:   $140.00

Auto Racing - Tools and Equipment

For 2020 we were hoping to get in a number of autocross and HPDE events. Unfortunately, with COVID-19 the season's racing schedule became more or less non-existent.
We got a tire pyrometer so that we can take measurements of tire temperature at a track. This helps with determining the correct pressure to run the tire at. We got the AccuTech Deluxe Digital Pyrometer from Longacre Racing Products.

Nausicaa - Project Update - Images from P&L Motorsports (7th Set)

More images and a video from P&L Motorsports. In this update we get to see the WedsSport (Weds Wheels) TC-105X17"x8" 5x114 with 32mm offset mounted over the big brake kit ordered from Fastbrakes.

First, the video of the engine start up. (Warning, no real exhaust or intake pipe on it, so it is loud.)
Then we have images of the big brake kit installed.

Nausicaa - Project Update - Parts Ordered

We are hopefully starting to get close to being done ordering parts for this project. Since switching primary contacts at P&L Motorsports regarding this project we have had a much better experience in terms of communication.

K Series Parts:

K-tuned K24/K20Z3 Upper Coolant Housing w/ Standard 1.25" Hose Fitting
Part no.: KUW-24T-HE
Price:   $116.99

Nausicaa - Project Update - Images from P&L Motorsports (6th Set)

P&L Motorsports sent us some images today. These are images in preparation for the paint shop. We are currently in the process of getting quotes for the engine bay, interior, and a primer coat on the exterior. We have also been looking at quotes for the future wrapping of the exterior with a self-healing vinyl wrap.
A little ways back we ordered our WedsSport (Weds Wheels) TC-105X17"x8" 5x114 with 32mm offset and this is the first time we have seen them mounted.
The car is a bit on the dirty side. Also not sure I ever noticed the roll cage cross brace going across the moon roof opening until now.

Nausicaa - Project Update (Radiator) - Images from P&L Motorsports (5th Set)

In my last two posts I have been venting some frustration (see here and here). My frustration really stems from breakdowns in communication. P&L Motorsports did get back to me regarding the radiator, though left some of my questions unanswered (it just took an email, phone call, and second email and ~36-48 hours) to get a response.
At one point I am planning to write a longer post just about the various vendor experiences I have had throughout this project.
We will start with a few of the following:
A) I ordered this Mishimoto radiator before I knew which intake manifold we would be using. This is on me, so incompatibility was potentially there.
B) The new Koyorad Racing radiator was ordered, and unfortunately I was not consulted on this.

Nausicaa - Project Update - Many More Parts Ordered

My spouse made a call to P&L Motorsports and this seemed to have lit a new fire regarding progress on the car. They have been taking inventory of the parts they have and on the additional parts they need. Therefore I have had to order a lot of parts recently.

Nausicaa - Project Update - Wheels Ordered

This turned out to be a more complicated ordeal than I had hoped. Originally when I was shopping for some of my Prelude parts I came across the blog hosted by Studio VRM which has a multipart blog about How to Build a Honda Prelude Racecar.

Roger at Studio VRM was really helpful in figuring out wheel size. I decided to go with Gram Lights 57Transcend 17"x8" 5x114 (having elected to do the 5-lug conversion). This was elected because of wheel availability in 17" wheels for 5x114.3 over 4x114.3 bolt patterns. This all informed the brakes ordered. The 17"x8" recommendation came from Roger, who has a lot more experience racing a Prelude than I.
I then spoke with Brian at Fastbrakes to make sure the wheels would clear the desired big brake kit. He confirmed that these would.
And I was happy to be using wheels from RAYS Wheels (Gram Lights are a sub brand of RAYS). This were listed as in stock with Evasive Motorsports for months.
