Nausicaa - Project Update - Images from P&L Motorsports (11th Set)

Another update from P&L Motorsports. While the car body is at A&L Auto Body undergoing body and paint work the engine has been worked on.

At this point a lot of parts have been removed and the oil pump is being replaced.
The 4P Ported K-Series Oil Pump K20/K24 is installed. This was chosen to be a more robust oil pump as our intention is to race this car and we do not want to worry about oil pressure issues.
New timing chain installed as well as the K24A2 Cam Shafts Exhaust and Intake and the cam gears. It made sense to do a timing chain, even though the engine is relatively young, since it is out of the engine bay and the oil pump was being swapped.
The timing chain guide ways are also in place.
So is the K-Tuned K-Series Timing Chain Tensioner.
Based on position and shape I assume these lines are related to the oil filter, cooler, and the Canton Racing Accusump oil pressure control system we have.
The timing chain cover has been cleaned up and given a black crinkle paint job.

Here you can see the new VTC gears for the cam shafts as well as the K-Tuned K Series Billet Tensioner Cover. The tensioner cover may get painted.

The belt pulley with the surface rust will be sanded and cleaned up.

And we have the Moroso 7.5 qt K-Series Oil Pan K20/K24 installed. Additional oil capacity and baffles. Should keep the oil pump well fed.
In addition to everything else the engine gaskets were replaced.
The valve cover gaskets were also replaced.
The valve cover was painted as well. Should hopefully match well with the other purple accent pieces we have sprinkled throughout the car.
Here we have the 4-1 K-Swap Race Header Polished 304 Stainless Steel mounted.
The header is ceramic coated.
All in a little bit of dress up here and there. But primarily function over form other than the color of the valve cover. We are really looking forward to this being back in the car.

  1. Nice to see this. New clutch, pressure plate and throw-out bearing are planned as well, right?
