Auto Racing - Tools and Equipment

For 2020 we were hoping to get in a number of autocross and HPDE events. Unfortunately, with COVID-19 the season's racing schedule became more or less non-existent.
We got a tire pyrometer so that we can take measurements of tire temperature at a track. This helps with determining the correct pressure to run the tire at. We got the AccuTech Deluxe Digital Pyrometer from Longacre Racing Products.

We wanted a fancier tire pressure gauge with a high degree of accuracy that also allows you to simultaneously bleed air for precise tire pressure. After going through reviews and recommendations from friends I settled on the Semi Pro Digital Tire Pressure Gauge 0-60 psi from Longacre Racing Products.

In order to be able to adjust pressure at the track or autocross we bought Pittsburgh Automotive 12V 100 PSI High Volume Air Inflator. This is well reviewed and recommended as well as very compact.

Torque wrenches were bought so that we could precisely tighten bolts for do it yourself maintenance as well as properly tightening lug nuts. We went with the ICON 1/2 in. 50-250 ft. lb. Professional Torque Wrench and 3/8 in. 20-100 ft. lb. Professional Torque Wrench after looking through a lot of positive reviews that ware comparing these favorably to other high end torque wrenches at a lower cost.

Lastly we purchased Modular Panel Track Day Numbers from iZoom Graphics. Ours are magnetic and we bought a full set from zero to nine. Our original intent was to get the same purple background with two different yellow hues, one for odd and one for even. Unfortunately they shipped us everything with matching yellows.

We recently performed our first oil change on our 2014 Subaru BRZ, Cagalli Yula, ourselves. Up to this point the car had been under warranty and we did not have access to a garage. During the change I used the new 3/8 in. torque wrench and I must say the high tooth count torque wrench was an immense improvement over other torque wrenches and ratchets I have used. Consider me now spoiled. I am really happy with the torque wrenches so far.
