Nausicaa - Project Update - Images from A&L Auto Body (11th Set)

Most likely final update from A&L Auto Body.

The car is finished on their end and we are now arranging for it to be picked up and work to continue with P&L Motorsports.

Unfortunately the images this time are nowhere near as high quality as the ones Chuck previously provided. Apologies for them being on the smaller and lower res side.

Glass is back in.

In terms of what we had A & L Auto Body do is:

Repair any existing rust and dings or dents on the car.

Repaint the engine bay our choice of one of Honda's whites. Paint the interior a matching color.

Paint the roll cage in candy purple.

Replace our front windshield (was cracked before all this started).

Repair the driver side door, it was a little bent at the top.

Repaint the rest of the car in primer as the car will later be wrapped.

We chose not to go with a finished paint job on the exterior as the intention is for this car to be used on track and we did not want to abuse a quality paint job with track time.

In terms of original estimate versus actual price, Chuck was within $32.04 of his estimate of the work to be done when he got the car in the shop and had a chance to look at the amount of work that needed to be done, i.e. the estimate we approved.

We are very pleased with the estimate provided and that Chuck was able to stick so closely to it.

The total for the body work and all the paint and other work done was $10,526.09.

This is by far the single biggest line item cost in the build so far, at least I am pretty sure it is, but it  involved a not insignificant amount of restoration work. And if you are going to have a nice project car you may as well do the restoration work.

We are looking forward to the car getting back to P&L Motorsports and the updates to come.
