Cagalli Yula (Subaru BRZ) Cracked Windshield and on Being Too Low

On our way to Lock Haven, PA for Megatransect the windshield got hit by something. We were on I-476 heading north. Apparently whatever hit was near the A pillar.
And with a thwack a crack appeared.

When you fill out an auto glass claim with Geico they ask you if the crack is longer than a dollar  bill...

Yes, yes it was.

And as the day and weekend went on it continued to grow.

Exterior shot, notice the tiny little dimple on the far left.

And so while the initial chip and crack happened on Friday by Sunday evening it was much longer.

The crack is only on the exterior and I should soon have the windshield replaced. And luckily for me I don't need to pay extra for factory glass because  for the time being there are no aftermarket alternatives.

On a different note, having done a very long and difficult hike that was quite painful and left me quite stiff my car has a very non-optimal seating position. It was very hard to get in and out of the car when very stiff.
So... if I do these things more often I'd probably appreciate a much higher seating position / car height just for ease of getting in and out of the car.

In conclusion, BRZ is not exactly the perfect car for all occasions.
