I was out at Rowes Wharf in Boston, MA for a family reunion event. My spouse ran an errand and on her way out saw some fancy cars and said I should take a look. Initially I just grabbed a shot with my cellphone. But, it is very rare that one sees a Pagani Huayra and Huayra BC out and about.

A BC may very well be north of $4 million. A friend of mine commented on how rarely he gets to see these, so I checked if they were still parked near the Boston Harbor Hotel after our harbor cruise.

One of the fun parts of these cars is that they are fully carbon fiber but that it is painted over. But it is painted in such a way that the carbon fiber weave can be seen through the paint.

It was so sunny I was struggling to get through the glare even with a circular polarizing filter.

For some context, there are only 30 Pagani Huayra BC cars ever made. They use a twin-turbocharged V12 with 754 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque. The BC was a track oriented variant of the regular Huayra weighing in at 2,685 lbs.

It is a bit of a shame that I could not get a better interior shot. These cars are noted for having very finely machined aluminum parts all over the interior and an interesting floating shift device that is very mechanical with rods exposed.

The "normal" Huayra came with a twin-turbocharged V12 producing 730 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque and weight in at a comparatively heavier 2,976 lbs. I believer the total number of cars built was 100.

Keep in mind the Pagani Huayra was new for 2012. Back then it had a 0-60 MPH time of 2.8 seconds and was one of the first production cars to see the use of active aerodynamic components. For example, the two flaps sticking up at the rear in the above photo move to change the aerodynamics of the car and help with cornering and braking.
It was cool to see these cars in the wild today, especially clearly driven and covered in pollen and spots and not just detailed and clean the way you might see them at a big auto show.
